Lava has launched two new smartphones in its ‘X’ series, called the X17 and X50. The two smartphones are priced at Rs 6,899 and Rs 8,699 respectively. The Lava X17 will be available in champagne gold and black steel color variants whereas the X50 will be available in blue color only. Both smartphones are 4G enabled and support VoLTE.
Lava X17 specifications
The Lava X17 comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and is paired with 1GB of RAM. Also on offer is 8GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded to 32GB via microSD card.

On the camera front, the Lava X17 comes with an 8-megapixel primary camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera up front with dual LED flash and 84 degree wide angle lense. Other camera features include face beauty, GIF, audio picture and panaroma. The smartphone comes with 2,350mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the smartphone comes with 4G, VoLTE, dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth4.0, GPS and 3.5mm jack. The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
Other features that the Lava X17 supports are smart gestures, 12 languages support, slow motion and time lapse video. Talking about the competition, the device will take on the likes of Intex Aqua Secure and Reliance Digital LYF Wind 1.
Lava X50 specifications
The Lava X50 is slightly bigger than the X17 and flaunts a 5.5-inch HD IPS display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and is paired with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The storage can be further expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.

On the photography front, the Lava X50 sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash. The camera supports full HD recording. It comes with 2,800mAh battery with power saver mode. The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
Some of the other features that the smartphone is equipped with are auto call recording, flip to mute, 12 Indian languages support, smart gestures, etc.
The smartphone will compete with the likes of Gionee P5L and Intex Aqua ACE II 4G.
