Sketchy photos allegedly show real-life photos of the Apple iPad Pro 2 prototype. The tablet is expected to go into production in September
While all eyes are on the upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Apple also seems to be gearing up to launch the next-generation iPad Pro. Alleged photos of the Apple iPad Pro 2 with a 12.9-inch screen have surfaced in China, which is expected to go into production in September.
The photos shared by Apple Insider only show the settings menu of the iPad Pro 2, and all the text is in Chinese. As per the leaked photos, the model number is MH1C2CD/F, which isn’t attributed to any current or past Apple device. But it does follow the numerical order of the iPad Pro lineup — ML0G2LL/A and ML3N2LL/A. The photos also only 12GB as available storage, which means the tablet in the photos is a prototype that is being tested by Apple. On the software front, the tablet is running on the latest version of iOS 10 beta, which was released to developers earlier this month.
Unfortunately, there is no other information available about this rumored iPad Pro 2. All we know for now is that the upcoming iPad is set to go into production in September. Apple had unveiled the 12.9-inch iPad Pro last year along with the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. It followed that up with the iPad Pro 9.7-inch earlier this year. Prices for the 12.9-inch variant in India start from Rs 67,900, while the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is available in India with prices starting from Rs 49,900.
It could be possible that Apple could unveil the iPad Pro 2 along with the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. The launch event is expected to take place in the week of September 12.
The upcoming iPhones are likely to look similar to last year’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Small changes will include redesigned antenna lines, and no 3.5mm audio jack. There are also rumors of a new ‘space black’ color variant.
As for specifications, the iPhone 7 is expected to feature a new A10 processor, 2GB of RAM, while the iPhone 7 Plus variant will feature 3GB of RAM. One of the biggest differentiation will be on the camera front with the iPhone 7 Plus variant featuring a dual-camera setup. Other new features expected are TouchID sensor with ForceTouch, and waterproofing capabilities.
