After Xiaomi Mi4i, Mi5 Blasts; now Mi Band 2 burns a Users Hand in China

Xiaomi is also called as Apple of China, not in terms of their service standards but because of the design and UI of their devices which look similar to the Apple devices. The company had launched few popular devices with affordable price tag and that too without compromising over the specifications and build quality. But recently we have seen Mi 4i caught on fire in the user’s hand in India.

While Xiaomi had replaced the device, it had mentioned that the device is collected from the user for investigating the actual cause. Till date, there is no update on that issue and a few days ago, we have posted the images of the company’s flagship Mi 5 battery explosion. Unlike the other Xiaomi devices, the Mi 5 is a premium device, and the company also priced it on a higher side when compared to earlier launched Mi 3 and Mi 4.

Now, one more issue has come into limelight in China. A user based out of Guangzhou, China is accusing the Mi Band 2 for the burns on her hand. After Mi Band had gained popularity with the just $15 pricing, the company came with Mi Band Pulse which is the same Mi Band that was launched earlier but additionally came with a heart rate sensor. A few months back, it had launched the successor Mi Band 2 that came with a display and costed just $22.

While the band doesn’t look cheap or faced any major quality issues, the user mentioned in a post that she had noticed scars on her wrist when woke up on the morning of July 13th. Over 17 days after the incident took place, the company had replied back that there is no issue with the Band while the user is sure that the burns are caused due to the Mi Band 2. From the above images, we can see the bleeding from the burnt area.

Apart from her view, there is no information from the other side over this issue. Since there is official information from the company and we will update the story once there is any update on this issue.

Note: In case, if you are using one of the Xiaomi fitness bands, then don’t panic because these kind of cases are very rare. Also we don’t recommended the Mi Band or any other fitness band users to keep the band tightly locked to their hands.
