HTC to launch two Desire 10 variants. Leaked renders give us a look of what they could look like

You can tell it’s summer by the larger and larger number of leaked phone shots appearing on the web these days. It’s like the designers and Photoshop buffs have cracked their knuckles and got to rendering all of a sudden. And thus here comes the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle and Pro.

Last month Evan Blass revealed that HTC is working on a mid-range Desire 10 smartphone and it will be arriving by end of Q3. Blass then shared some more information regarding the upcoming smartphone. Blass reported that there will be not one but two Desire 10 smartphones, dubbed Desire 10 Lifestyle and Desire 10 Pro. However he revealed details of Desire 10 Lifestyle only back then.

The HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle will have 5.5-inch 720p display and quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It will come in two variants depending on the market: 2GB RAM w/ 16GB storage and 3GB RAM w/ 32GB storage. The main camera unit will be 13-megapixel (w/ BSI sensor, LED flash) and the front facing camera will be 5-megapixel (w/ BSI sensor). Both front and rear cameras are capable of recording 1080p videos.

Just like HTC’s other smartphone, the audio will not be compromised. The phone will also feature BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition stereo speakers, and 24-bit hi-res DAC audio chip. HTC will also bundle high-quality earbuds with increased frequency range to take advantage of the enhanced audio output. Build-wise, the Desire 10 Lifestyle will sports “metallic gold trim on the edges and around key hardware elements like the camera lens, flash, and antenna cutouts. It should feature matte, solid color finishes”.

This model was barely just MENTIONED a few days before the renders came out, as a potential release for the fall, maybe at IFA and lo and behold it gets rendered. While the source assured it was real, a quick look at the back reveals what’s wrong with it, namely the off center camera. Before this leak there was a Weibo sighting where only the camera area was shown.

HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle render has a pretty big camera and what seems to be a laser focus bit below it. If you look closely, the right antenna cutout flanking the cam is longer than the left one. Either that, or I need glasses. Some elements have been lifted from the HTC 10, like the audio jack contour and the sides for example, including various color variations. Also if you zoom into the volume button, there’s something amiss there, like an extra white element of sorts. So it could be fake, or may be not.

What we didn’t know then is just how exactly will the HTC Desire 10 Pro look like. This time again, Evan Blass (via Venture Beat) has revealed the press render, which if true, could be of the HTC Desire 10 Pro.

Black and Gold accents seem to dominate the HTC Desire Pro, though other color options are also a possibility. No front-firing dual-speakers, but a slender-looking build with an acceptable (at least according to renders) camera bump on the back, and a huge camera protecting glass (that might even turn out to be the lens themselves). With this new render from a more trusted source, namely Evan Blass, the previous render of the Desire 10 Lifestyle appears more fake because it’s a little unlikely that two variants of the same device will have different camera placements a complete flipping of the fingerprint scanner and such.

If we dig even deeper, we can see that the date on the clock widget is September 20th. This not only corroborates VentureBeat’s suspicion that the Desire 10 Lifestyle will launch in late September, but also a tweet of @evleaks’s saying that the Desire 10 will arrive at the end of Q3. HTC has been known to leave little hints of expected launch days in renders, so we’re not just grasping at straws here.

HTC is expected to unveil the Desire 10 Lifestyle and Desire 10 Pro by the end of September, most probably at IFA 2016. (What to expect from IFA 2016)
