Mi 4i, Mi 5, Mi Band 2 and now its Mi 4c that burns and melts

In recent weeks we have seen reports of Mi 5 exploding, Mi4i catching fire before that and the Mi band 2 which according to the user burnt her hand. The latest to join the list of Xiaomi devices playing with fire one Mi 4C from Poland.

A Xioami user from Poland has posted on a Reddit-like Polish forum that his Xiaomi Mi 4C was burnt and melted. He also mentioned that device is not charging while this incident took place. The device was lying next to his head while he was sleeping on his bed at night and suddenly it began to fly sparks and smoke. From the images, we can see the device has the transparent back cover on it.

Given this is one Mi 4c out of the thousands or millions sold, we have seen quite a lot of Xiaomi products suffer similar fates. This can raise serious questions on the company’s device quality control and safety measures. The said Polish user wrote an email to the company.

In a reply to his email, Xiaomi Europe, said,
