Samsung released its flagship, the ever so elegant Galaxy Note 7 earlier with 4GB of RAM, but then an executive from the company confirmed a 6GB RAM variant for the Chinese market citing stiff competition from the local brands. This left a bad taste in the mouth of the many Note 7 owners which already have the International 4GB variant. Mostly because OnePlus 3 has 6 Gigs of RAM. While people are still debating that 6GB is a lot of unnecessary RAM, an Android smartphone with 8 gigs of RAM might be on its way.
8GB RAM on a Smartphone: Yes you read it right. There are going to be Android Smartphones in the market with 8GB RAM space. Innovation and Technology are growing at a fast pace, and Telecommunication companies and mobile phone manufacturers are in a race amongst them as to who is going to be the ‘FIRST’ to launch something new for the customers even if doesn’t make any sense right now. They said the Note was a gigantically stupid phone when it first came out. Same was said when smartphones with 4GB of RAM were introduced. So who are we to judge what will stick heh?
According to GizChina, the LeEco Le 2s – which is a terrible name, by the way, like every other LeEco smartphone – will feature the hot new Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and 8GB of RAM. When it comes to storage, you can expect 64GB of built-in memory. The device should have a 5.5-inch display with 2.5D curved glass and likely 2K resolution, at least considering the specs above. Rumour has this beast of a phone will have a 25 MP camera, TWENTY FIVE, in case you wouldn’t believe it in numbers.
The images, which were published by GizChina, show the front of the device. You can see the beautiful edge-to-edge display and the front-facing camera, but the bottom chin isn’t visible. Yhe LeEco Le2s looks stunning in white with silver accents. It could also come in blue and red variants, based on previous leaks.
At a time when OEMs are struggling with the idea of including 6GB of RAM and most are OEMs as well as the users are content with 4GB, bringing 8GB RAM in a smartphone will certainly turn some heads.

We still don’t know exactly when to expect the Le2S, but if the images above are real the device could get an official launch pretty soon. LeEco hasn’t confirmed plans for any upcoming events in the near future, so we wouldn’t get too excited just yet.
