While quality comes at a price, there’s no denying that nobody wants to spend a whole fortune on a smartphone. Fortunately, this is no longer a requirement if you want to get lay your grubby mitts on a handset that offers exceptional bang for the buck, bounce for the ounce, value for money, and a whole slew of other cryptic idioms.

Gearbest has launched a new special promotion on three Vernee smartphone, one of the most talked-about of the period: Vernee Apollo Lite, Vernee Mars and Vernee Thor . For the occasion, the online shopping portal is offering discounted prices in a flash sale.

Vernee Apollo Lite, for sale at $199.99, integrates a SoC MediaTek Helio X20 (MT6797) from 2.3GHz with Mali T880 MP4 GPU, 4GB of ROM eMMC 5.1 RAM and 32GB expandable with a slot for microSD cards up to 128GB, Sharp IGZO display 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) with a 5 megapixel slight curvature on the edges (2.5D) and coating Gorilla Glass 3, combined with a front sensor Samsung (S5K5E2 model) to a rear (Samsung S5K3P3) 16 megapixel with f / 2.0 aperture, dual LED flash and video recording capability 4K. It has WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth and 4G / LTE (dual-SIM), fingerprint reader, by 3180 mAh battery, USB Type-C and Android 6.0 operating system Marshmallow.

Vernee Apollo Lite is a nice phone that brings a lot of great features for a decent price of just over $200. It all starts with an all-metal design and great build quality, nice display, fast and smooth user interface and great battery.  However, the camera is not always reliable and it struggles quite a bit in low-light. Also, you have to know that Helio X20 is good enough for most games but you may have a few skipped frames if you play them on the highest graphics. Other than that, Vernee Apollo Lite is a solid sub-$200. Sure, it is not perfect but it delivers in quite a few ways. If you don’t care about the low-light photography much, the Apollo Lite may be even called a solid affordable midrange smartphone.

Vernee Thor has a budget to mid-range pricing at $109.99, while having a low-cost price. Its data sheet consists of a SoC MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor at 1.3GHz, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, alongside a main 13mp camera with BSI sensor that can record full HD video and a 5-megapixel front. The operating system is Android 6.0 Marshmallow, while the display has a diagonal of 5 inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels). There is a fingerprint sensor, a speaker with a resonance chamber, and a 2800 mAh battery that supports the rapid charging.

The Vernee Thor isn’t the smartphone for everyone, but it is a smartphone that will do just about anything you need it too without paying an arm and a leg for it. There are a few issues with the Thor here, but most of them aren’t deal breakers – aside from the Fingerprint scanner issue. Hopefully Vernee can fix that issue up in a future software update or two.

Should You Buy the Vernee Thor?

I would say that you should buy the Vernee Thor if you aren’t a hardcore user. If you just need a phone that can check your email, use to browse Facebook, Twitter, etc., and even play a few games. Then this is a good smartphone to pick up. But if you’re looking for an alternative to a flagship smartphone that costs around $600+, you’re going to be disappointed.

Vernee Mars will cost you  $199.99 and is equipped with a display of 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) in-cell with a screen-to-body ratio of 80% of a typical 5-inch terminals, processor MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) octa-core 64-bit, Mali-T860 MP2, 4GB of RAM LPDDR3 and internal memory 32GB eMMC 5.0, with a 3000 mAh battery. As for the photographic industry, Mars incorporates a 13-megapixel sensor (Sony IMX258, PDAF and aperture f / 2.0) with dual LED flash on the back and a 5-megapixel (Samsung S5KE2) in the front. Runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has a 3.5 mm audio jack, a USB Type-C, LTE / 4G (dual-SIM), WiFi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0, a fingerprint reader (on the right) that supports Fingerprint ID Unlock and recognition in 0.1s in addition to the more common sensors.

Although there are many options available in the market in this range, Vernee Mars is a good choice as it has a host of latest features. You can try this smartphone if you want to try something new. Also, if the design is your priority, then you must purchase it as it has an incredibly thin and beautiful design. Performance wise the phone is good, but if you are a heavy user, then you can give it a skip and wait as many new smartphones are going to be launched in coming months.
