‘BATMAN : The Telltale series Episode 1’now available for free on Android

The story of the Dark Knight has been told many times in many different formats. Telltale Games, well-known for their story-driven titles, released the first episode of their Batman series back in August for various gaming platforms. The first episode, Realm of Shadows, is now available on the Play Store for select devices.

Fans of the Dark Knight superhero will be able to check out the action-adventure series starting with episode one, Realm of Shadows. The series puts a lot of emphasis on Batman’s alter-ego, billionaire Bruce Wayne, and the player has to make choices as both Batman and Wayne that could have far-reaching consequences in later episodes as he fights crime in Gotham City.

The series isn’t directly based on any of the existing Batman stories, and in fact, many of the characters’ stories have been changed to a great degree. The PC version of the first episode currently has a Metacritic rating of 74. IGN called it in their review, “an unpredictable, multi-faceted adventure told through Batman the brawler, Batman the detective, and Bruce Wayne the politician.”

The game has had a bit of a staggered release on mobile, with iOS getting the first two episodes before the Android release of the first episode. However, the third episode is already out on console and desktop, with iOS players still waiting for the third episode. Hopefully all versions catch up to each other at some point (and episode 2 hit iOS pretty quickly after episode 1), but for now, mobile gamers no matter where they are have some waiting to do.

However, Android gamers get a nice benefit for waiting: the first episode of Batman is free. Google-Play-Button-NEW-e1460739245700Do note the system requirements: Only supports devices running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and versions of Android 5.0 Lollipop that support OpenGL 3.1. So, you may need a relatively recent device to play this one. But hey, at least you can download for free to find out if it works for you or not. Note that the game isn’t quite out yet on Amazon, so Fire owners will have to wait a little bit longer.

So fans of the bat, have you been waiting for this game? Have you played it before on the PC or consoles? Could you get it installed on your phone? Share your thoughts on the game.
