LG V20 available in Canada now, U.S. getting the unlocked version in November

The LG V20 is now available for purchase in in the Great White North, where carriers Videotron and Wind Mobile are currently offering the device while an unlocked version is soon coming to the southern neighbor. The LG V20 isn’t widely available in Canada, and wouldn’t be available on the big three carriers, you will still be able to find it in almost every province, on the two aforementioned regional carriers. Wind Mobile operates in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta, while Videotron has an extensive network in Quebec.

The V20 will set you back a substantial sum. Videotron has it outright for $1,029.95 and Wind manages to just keep it under a grand at $999 but there are also several options for contract-based V20 ownership.

Pre-order the LG V20 via Wind Mobile  :

  • $349 with $25 WindTab Boost
  • $549 with $15 WindTab Boost
  • $749 with $5 WindTab Boost
  • $899 with WindTab
  • $999 outright

Wind has confirmed that the V20 is “future LTE-ready.”

Pre-order the LG V20 via Videotron  :

  • $249.95 with a monthly plan of $79.95 per month for 2 years
  • $389.95 with a monthly plan of $69.95 per month for 2 years
  • $1029.95 outright

Fortunately, but for a limited time, those that buy the V20 in Canada are also entitled to a free pair of B&O Play H3 headphones worth $199 (Canadian) to make use of the V20’s excellent Quad DAC.

The LG V20 is already widely available in the US, but you can only get it via carriers (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, or U.S. Cellular). But if you haven’t already pulled the trigger on a carrier-locked V20 in the U.S. and if you want an unlocked LG V20, you can’t buy one yet. However, you’ll be pleased to know that unlocked versions will be arriving in early November.

Online retailers including Newegg and B&H Photo are taking pre-orders which you probably know already if you’ve been keeping up with Verdict. B&H says the handset is expected to become available in the beginning of November (which could mean sometime next week), while Newegg has November 11 listed as release date.

Both B&H and Newegg are asking $799.99 (USD) for an unlocked LG V20. While that may seem like a high price, it’s actually lower than the off-contract prices asked by AT&T ($829.99) and Sprint ($849.99). Pre-orders will also score a free pair of B&O headphones as well as a LG G Pad 7.0 tablet. Newegg will also gift you a 10,050 mAh Orico Quick Charge 3.0 Powerbank.
