Gatebox virtual home robot wants you to be her ‘master’

Alexa, the voice inside your Amazon Echo or Dot, is very helpful and always accommodating. So are Siri, Cortana, and the various other artificially intelligent assistants available today. But none can seemingly compare with the experience provided by Azuma Hikari, — her name, appropriately, means “light” —  the holographic character who lives inside the Gatebox, Japan’s sort-of-but-not-really answer to the Amazon Echo.

Falling in love with an intelligent computer operating system may become a thing of the present with the new Gatebox virtual home robot. The introductory video demonstrates how Gatebox works: Continue reading “Gatebox virtual home robot wants you to be her ‘master’”

Apple may be in the process of inventing Google Glass, or Microsoft HoloLens, which could it be?

Google Glass promised a sci-fi style future where we’d never forget a person’s face or lose our way in a city. Unfortunately, it also ran into a host of privacy problems and was ultimately scrapped. Google has now moved onto VR, like most in the industry.

On the other hand, Microsoft believes AR is the way ahead. Microsoft’s new HoloLens project has shown the tech world where the future of augmented reality might lead, and Apple is making moves to catch up with its own AR product, that much, CEO Tim Cook has made clear. Daydream VR Apps : Youtube VR, Fantastic Beasts, CNN VR, Google Arts & Cultures and more

Back when Google first launched Cardboard into the Play Store, it was viewed as little more than an experiment, a neat little gimmick that would never make it to the mainstream. This week, however, marks the launch of the proper, version 1.0 product that Cardboard was laying the groundwork for; Daydream. Compatible only with the Pixel and Pixel XL right now – with Nexus device and more devices to support it soon – Daydream is a platform that is finding its legs still, but rather than walking as Cardboard did, Google is hitting the ground running.
