“Nokia Pixel” and a couple other lower end Nokia devices leak on Geekbench

Nokia’s return to the smartphone industry is expected to kick off in late February with an announcement at MWC 2017 in Barcelona. Some specs for Nokia’s new Android flagship leaked yesterday and now a certain Nokia Pixel has surfaced on Geekbench. The Nokia Pixel was apparently benchmarked earlier this month.

Nokia Android-powered smartphones appear on Geekbench


It has been a while since we have seen a Nokia-branded mobile phone around. While the Lumia 830 was the last Nokia-branded smartphone launched in 2014, the Nokia 230 dual-SIM feature phone was the very last of Nokia-branded devices that we saw, launched in November 2015. Ever since, it has been the longest hiatus that the Finnish giant has ever taken from the mobile industry. The company ran into dire straits with the advent of the smartphone wave, struck a partnership with Microsoft, failed to make a major impact, got abandoned by it, and has been frozen out of making phones with its own branding till Q3 2016.

Recently a Nokia executive confirmed three to four Android powered smartphones for Q4 2016, and now two such smartphones have been spotted on Geekbench.

HTC Nexus Sailfish to be as fast as Galaxy Note 7

HTC is rumored to manufacturer two Nexus smartphones this year. The earlier leaks from GFXBench revealed the devices to be codenamed as Marlin and Sailfish.

Earlier today, an AnTuTu screenshot surfaced on Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo, alleging that the upcoming HTC-made Google Nexus Sailfish was put through the benchmark test. The phone also turned up on Geekbench browser under the name “google sailfish”.
