After weeks of leaks from both unverified sources and LG themselves the LG G6 was finally officially announced on stage at the MWC 2017 event in Barcelona. The highlight of the device is its tall 5.7 inch QuadHD+ display with a new 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone is small for a device with that big a display thanks to the minimum bezels and the company claims that the LG G6 only has a footprint of a 5.2 inch device. The new LG G6 display also supports two wider color standards: Dolby Vision and HDR 10. Continue reading “LG G6 is official now”
Huawei has been releasing quite a few interesting smartphones lately which have received mostly a positive response from users and critics alike. Continuing the trend, Huawei’s subsidiary brand, Honor, took the wraps off a new beast of a smartphone, the Honor V9 today. The V series from Honor fits somewhere between the mid range and the premium P series of Huawei smartphones. Continue reading “Huawei Honor V9 with a massive 4000mAh battery is official”
The Chinese electronics giant Vivo unveiled the Vivo Xplay 6, its new flagship today, and I have to say, it ticks all the right boxes – at least on the hardware side.
There is no denying that this is a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge clone barring the back which is more like an iPhone 7. Vivo calls the antenna design on Xplay6 as U-type antenna dome with 1.8mm narrow lines but we know better don’t we. However, it’s much cheaper and feels flagship-ish.

The OnePlus 3 is, without doubt, one of 2016’s very best smartphones because it offers true flagship performance at half the price of most rivals. But just five months after release OnePlus has controversially announced an upgraded version called the ‘OnePlus 3T’.
For this mid-cycle refresh, OnePlus has focused on bumping the specs and adding a few extra hardware features to the OnePlus 3T. The core of the experience in terms of external hardware, display and main camera components remain unchanged. But internally we have some new additions with a better processor, new front camera, 128GB storage option and a larger battery. We saw a Blue Coral smartphone for the first time when Samsung brought the Galaxy Note 7. As it turns out, the color was an instant hit among fans and consumers. But with the Note 7 out of market now, the beloved color ended up without a product. Then Samsung decided to bring the Blue Coral to the Galaxy S7 in a bid to boost sales while the Galaxy S8 is getting ready. It already launched in South Korea a few days ago.
And now we have some great news for Samsung fans in the United States, as the highly anticipated Blue Coral Galaxy S7 edge will soon make its debut at T-Mobile. Continue reading “T-Mobile bringing Samsung Galaxy S7 in Blue Coral soon”
After all the leaks and rumors coming out of China over the past few weeks, the Lenovo Moto M is here. Even though the final announcement from Lenovo, which owns Motorola brand, is still awaited. The Moto M has been listed at the TMall, an online retail portal in China, for 1,999 Yuan ($295) and all its specifications as well as images have been shared on the website. The formal announcement of the Moto M is expected today.
There’s no word currently on whether the device will ever see a wider release outside of China, but earlier rumors had pointed at a global model that might be launched in the U.S. and some other international markets at some stage in the future. Huawei is a name that a lot of users in US will know as either “that Chinese brand” or the maker of the Nexus 6P. But Huawei is a much bigger deal in Europe than many will realize, and as such, it should come as no surprise that they held an event in Munich today to announce the new Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro. It’s the company’s sleekest, most powerful phone to date, and the first to run the brand new Kirin 960 processor, which features a boatload of powerful cores and ARM’s new Mali-G71 GPU, alongside Huawei’s own i6 co-processor. For a long time since Android started to mature as an Operating System, Blackberry was thought of as a lost cause as the firm continued to plod along with their own operating system, which clearly wasn’t gaining traction with consumers and the industry alike.
But last year, with the arrival of Blackberry PRIV, fans and industry watchers saw a little hope for Blackberry. The PRIV ran on android, and shipped with the software Blackberry fans loved. Blackberry as a company has changed since then, with the PRIV being the last true Blackberry phone as the company then closed down on their hardware division. Xiaomi announced the Mi Note 2 which could possibly be the Galaxy Note 7 replacement you might be looking for. In addition to announcing their new flagship phablet, Xiaomi has also introduced their ‘concept’ phablet, the Xiaomi Mi MIX. This is not exactly a concept device as it has been announced as the company’s already existing product, along with its pricing, but it sure looks like a concept device, which is probably why the company referred to it as such. This is perhaps the bezel less device that leaked before as the Mi Note 2.
The Mi MIX goes beyond “anything that’s available in the market today.” The phone features a massive 6.4-inch edgeless display, but the 91.3% screen-to-body ratio means that the Mix isn’t larger than your average 5.7-inch phone.
