Why removal of headphone jack in the iPhone 7 is not “courage” but “greed”

There’s a growing trend among smartphone manufacturers to do away with the 3.5mm audio jack that has long been the standard connector for a huge range of audio equipment over the past century. Motorola’s new Moto Z doesn’t feature a 3.5mm audio connector, neither does LeEco’s latest range of smartphones, and Apple has finally done away with the socket this year too. Of course, when Apple did it, it created a much more angry reaction from fans and haters alike than when Moto or LeEco did it.

In fact I had something to say about the removal of headphone jack on the Moto Z and LeEco. And while I still believe that, I am seeing a trend now and all these big names are writing about how Apple did the right thing, how headphone jacks are a 100 year old technology and they should go.

8GB RAM, 25 Mega Pixel camera, Snapdragon 821, can LeEco Le 2s BE anymore of a beast?

Samsung released its flagship, the ever so elegant Galaxy Note 7 earlier with 4GB of RAM, but then an executive from the company confirmed a 6GB RAM variant for the Chinese market citing stiff competition from the local brands. This left a bad taste in the mouth of the many Note 7 owners which already have the International 4GB variant. Mostly because OnePlus 3 has 6 Gigs of RAM. While people are still debating that 6GB is a lot of unnecessary RAM, an Android smartphone with 8 gigs of RAM might be on its way.

LeEco has launched Three 4K SuperTVs in India

After winning over Android smartphone users in India with their attractively designed and aggressively priced handsets, Cinese entertainment conglomerate LeEco is now applying the same tried and tested formula in order to make waves in the the Indian TV set market. LeEco has just introduced their first Super TVs in India, that feature a premium look that is sure to make heads turn, and at a price that the company claims to be disruptive.

LeEco is a Chinese tech giant and here’s why you should know about it

The brand you’ve never heard of is going to be everywhere soon.

Earlier this week, LeEco made its first major investment in the U.S. electronics segment with the acquisition of TV maker Vizio for $2 billion. Vizio is the second-largest TV vendor in the U.S. with a market share of 20%. While LeEco is a relative unknown in Western markets, it has a huge presence in China, and is making inroads into the Indian mobile segment.
