Facebook brings Live Streaming ‘Instant Video’ Feature in Messenger App

In yet another deeper push into video, Facebook today is rolling out a new update to its Messenger app that adds a new live video button into every chat window. Social networks have been “inspired by” Snapchat more than once in the last few months, and it appears that Facebook has been struck by inspiration once again this week as it introduces Instant Video to Facebook Messenger. Although video chatting has been a part of the messaging service since last year, Instant Video gives users the ability to place a video call from a window within the message thread.

Facebook Messenger crosses 1 billion users : 10 things you should know

Facebook has announced its Messenger app now has over a billion monthly active users. Facebook separated the Messenger app as a standalone app in 2014. Facebook has asked users to download Messenger app rather than to continue using the private message feature on the main Facebook app itself.

Facebook now owns three apps with more than 1 billion users. Starting with Facebook app which is the most popular, with 1.5 billion monthly active users. WhatsApp crossed 1 billion monthly active users in February 2016. Facebook owned Instagram too has over 500 million monthly active users.
