Verizon has a killer Black Friday deal : Google Pixel or Pixel XL for just $240

If you haven’t ordered the Google Pixel or Pixel XL yet, and wish to, or you’re just looking for the best Android experience this holiday season, there cannot be a better time than now, at least this year. Verizon has an amazing deal available for a new Google Pixel or Pixel XL which deals with the only negative aspect people are acknowledging about the Pixels, the price.

The sale will drop the Pixel or Pixel XL to just $240 on Thursday and Friday only. Just like other major retailers, Verizon is also offering Google Home for just $99, or $30 off. Continue reading “Verizon has a killer Black Friday deal : Google Pixel or Pixel XL for just $240”

20% off on Pixel and Pixel XL deals from Verizon and T-Mobile extends promo to Simple Choice Unlimited subscribers

Although Verizon has carrier-exclusivity for the Pixel and Pixel XL, that doesn’t mean you are restricted to subscribing to Big Red. Both Pixel devices are carrier-agnostic, meaning you can use them on AT&T or T-Mobile, which led to T-Mobile’s big announcement last week. T-Mobile’s 50% cash back offer is sure to attract a lot of Pixel and Pixel XL buyers towards T-Mobile and this makes the Verizon exclusivity of the Pixels meaningless.

Now Verizon is offering 20% off on the retail price of any phone. The offer applies to other phones besides the Pixels, though they’re likely some the largest savings you’ll find in terms of absolute dollars.nexus2cee_hero-668x287.png Continue reading “20% off on Pixel and Pixel XL deals from Verizon and T-Mobile extends promo to Simple Choice Unlimited subscribers”

Here’s how to enable bootloader unlocking for Verizon and EE Pixel/Pixel XL

When Google announced the Google Pixel, and revealed it comes exclusively on Verizon, enthusiasts feared Verizon might continue its practices even with the true Google flagship just as they do with every Android device they sell. And Verizon did indeed prove them right by disabling bootloader unlock on the Pixels it sold. But cracking the Verizon Pixel/Pixel XL’s bootloader seemed to be a matter of when, not if, and just a couple days ago, some senior XDA developers announced they had managed to achieve root on the Pixel.

Now two more devs from Sunshine have come up with a tool they call dePixel8 which they say can enable bootloader unlocking on the Google Pixel and Pixel XL sold on Verizon Wireless in the U.S. or EE in the U.K. Continue reading “Here’s how to enable bootloader unlocking for Verizon and EE Pixel/Pixel XL”

So Google Pixel is not coming to T-Mobile; T-Mobile is just trolling its Verizon exclusivity

Dear Americans, T-Mobile really wants you to know that Verizon’s “exclusive” to sell the red-hot Google Pixel phone isn’t an exclusive at all. “Don’t let the ‘exclusive’ advertisements fool you, the Pixel phone is tested and proven to be fantastic on our lightning fast network, and we want to help you get the best of both worlds!” said the carrier’s CEO John Legere in a statement.

If you purchase an unlocked Pixel and bring it to T-Mobile and sign up for a T-Mobile One plan, you can get 50% of the purchase price back. That’s right, T-Mobile is offering to pay you (through monthly bill credits) to bring your new phone over to its network. Whether you purchased your Pixel through Google or another retailer, all you’ll have to do is validate your purchase online. Brace yourselves : Verizon will handle updates for Google Pixel units sold by it

If you pre-order a Pixel or Pixel XL from Verizon, you’ll find a few Verizon apps pre-installed in your handset once you receive it. These lucky apps are My Verizon, Go90, VZ Messages. The good news is that you’ll be able to uninstall them if you don’t need them at all as they will arrive with Google Play Store support. However, that’s not all as far as Verizon’s stamp on the Pixel phones is concerned.

Google’s new Nexus phones might look amazing after all and may also be available via Verizon

In case you missed it, it is Nexus Season. You know, the time for good cheer, severe speculation, and of course our favorite – Nexus rumors.

Google’s pure Android phones have not seen the success of the iPhone, and they can’t match the sales of Samsung Galaxy flagship phones out there, but they still have plenty of fans. Nexus phones have one major advantage, access to fast Android updates, which make them prized possessions to Android users looking to be on the latest available Android releases. And this year, Google’s Nexus phones will be true flagship devices according to several independent reports, complete with great new design.
