Sony Xperia X Performance is receiving the Android Nougat update now

Sony today started rolling out an official Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Xperia X Performance, almost one month after releasing a Nougat beta program for the same device. The Sony Xperia X Performance is the first in the Xperia lineup of smartphones to begin getting the over-the-air update to Android 7.0 Nougat.

The OTA update which will bring the handset to firmware build number 39.2.A.0.327. has reportedly begun rolling out in some sections of the world for the Xperia X Performance (model number F8131), along with its Dual SIM variant (model number F8132).  Continue reading “Sony Xperia X Performance is receiving the Android Nougat update now”

Sony Xperia X Performance gets pre-release Android 7.0 beta

Sony’s Xperia beta program for Android 6.0 Marshmallow was very well received by fans and everybody else with some even suggesting other OEMs should follow the example. It was a great way for Xperia enthusiasts to help the company test out upcoming features, iron out bugs, and have a bit of an input into the company’s software direction. The program was ended in July this year.

Sony is now extending the program to its latest flagship, Xperia X performance for the soon to release Android 7.0 Marshmallow. Xperia X performance may be a very overpriced and not worth its buck, but at least now we know it will be one of the first smartphones to taste Android Nougat.
